I am so grateful to be ransomed in this glorious demesne known as the Outer Cape, a captive on 'The Spiral', where I am filled with longing to lose myself in the Great Dunes of the Provincelands and Cape Cod National Seashore. It is here that my spirit is set free, and where I am buoyed by the great natural beauty, especially the swaths of wild shoreline.
It is here in this landscape that sea, sky and land surely heed that ancient, glorious and plaintive, cry: 'Let there be Light!'. Exquisite and famous light it is; it has drawn artists, writers and seekers for generations. I am merely -humbly- one of many in the long tradition of creatives drawn here, seeking inspiration as well as subject matter.
The feeling of expansiveness the land and sea 'scapes evokes in me is shown in my many photographs of the skies and horizons. My artistic sensibility is equal parts lyrical and elegiac, with my work often expressive of the transcendent, the ephemeral and the ethereal.
In addition to still photography, I am drawn to the photo essay(narrative), and the photo paean (tribute or gratitude), since these genres allow meaning to merge and flow between both image or photo, and the written word.
I also love the weathered, the timeworn; the abandoned, the lost- then- found. And, "shacks" of various types: including oyster, dunes, Beach Point, lover's and writers', and the unassuming and covert lives experienced within them.
My approach to picture taking is intuitive, guided always by a luminescence, whether found within or without. Or ideally, both.

I am an Outer Cape dweller, a creative nonfiction writer, an(ultra)late bloomer, and a Mermaid who has finally found her Merman.
I am a small wave rider(stand up paddle and boogie board), a Swing and disco 'dancin' fool', and a rambler in the Provincelands dunes.
I am also the researcher and recorder of the 'family tree', and the conservator of the ancestors legacy in an elegiac memoir-in-progress, entitled " When the Bough Breaks".
Although born in Rhode Island, my roots reach back previous generations to Anthracite Country(Scranton), Pennsylvania and to the sea-swept coast of the West of Ireland (Connaught). I cross state lines and the North Atlantic to revisit all these locales as often as I can.
I am a former "low-brow" English/writing professor, and the mother of two grown children, a son and a daughter - decent human beings both.
